Happy Tuesday Ladies!
Today I'm going to review the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour Palette I ordered form Beautybay.com just before Christmas. So I'm sure you are all too familar with the infamous highlight and contour palette, it got a serious amount of attention on all platforms of social media, if your like me and mainly follow Makeup/beauty related people on Instragram and Facebook I'm sure your newsfeed was full of it. I tried to get my hands on it for so long, but it was constantly sold out on the Anastasia website. I had actually kind of forgotten about it until I was having a nose on Beauty Bay pre-Christmas. I didn't realise that they stocked any Anastsia products so as I'm sure you can imagine I was dying! (of over excitement of course!)
Now we all know that Anastasia products wouldn't be the cheapest so that why I'm here, is it really worth €58??
Let's see..
I've been using the contour palette for a little over a month now, everytime I do my makeup. Firstly I'll start off by saying it is a really versatile palette because it has 3 different contouring shades ( Java, Fawn & Havana) and 3 highlighting shades (Vanilla, Banana & Sand). When you're working on clients with different complexions and skin tones it's a huge help! Even if your not a makeup artist I personally still think it's a great investment if your a makeup lover that likes to just experiment!
Vanilla: The lightest shade in the palette, great for highlighting under the eyes, or setting concealer. Matte
Banana: If your going for that Kim K looks this is exactly what you need in your life! Absolutely beautiful for under eye highlighting and is extremely pigmented! Matte
Sand: One of my least favourites, it's a shimmery highlight, but for the kind of highlight that I like it's just not for me. I like more of a dewy look and it really just doesn't cut of for me. If you were going for a softer look I'm sure that this could be a winner though! Shimmer
Java: My favourite of all the contour shades, very similar to Benefit's Hula bronzer which is one of my favs! It's a beautiful warm tone which is great for warming up the skin and bringing a big of colour back into the face. Matte
Fawn: I'm still a little bit on the fence about this one. It's more of a cool tone shade so it can look a little bit muddy if you use it with a heavy hand. I will say it's a great transition colour if your using it in your crease along with out her shadows! Matte
Havana: Another favourite, I use this for a really defined contour right along my checkbones as it's that big darker. It's a really warm shade with redish undertones which I actually love and have grown accustom to from using MAC's "Give me Sun" it's almost the very same! Matte
One of my favorite features of the palette is that all of the pans can be taken out, which is great if you run out of one you can just buy a replacement! If I'm going anywhere over nifty or just need to bring a the nessecities with me I usually just pop whatever shadows and powers I need into me Z Palette so having the magnetised pans are a life saver.
For a while I was a bit unsure weather it's really was worth the money, but the more I use it the more I love it. I think if I was to run out of a certain shade I would definitely repurchase! So have any of you ladies get into the temptation or made the splurge? Let me know in the comments below. I'm going to review the brow pomades in the next week or so, I'm just not that used to them yet so I want to make sure I know my stuff before I fill you's in ☺️
Thank so much for reading!
